Singer/Songwriter
Name: Garðar Örn Hinriksson
Stage Name: The Baron
Born: Last century in Iceland
Life: A wife and three children
The Baron grew up in the 825 district of Iceland, Stokkseyri, which is a small village with about 500 inhabitants. He soon began to show an interest in music, and after singing casually along to the music of Duran Duran, ELO, and Creedence Clearwater Revival for several years, he acquired his first keyboard at the age of 13. Three years later, having stopped playing the keyboard and moved to Reykjavík, he started singing with his first band. Soon after that he started writing lyrics for the band and then for all his bands after that. The Baron has always been a big rock fan and most of the bands he has been in have played rock music. He has written little other than melodies for those bands. In recent years, things have changed for the better, and he now has around 150 finished and unfinished songs. His life changed completely in 2017 when he was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease and for a while it took a heavy toll on him. The Baron has now declared war on the disease, although he will probably lose that fight in the end.
